R’ CHAIM COMES FROM A VERY MEYUCHISDAK FAMILY. HIS FATHER, THE DOLINER REBBE HAD HIS SHTEEBLE ON MONTGOMERY ST. BETWEEN ROGERS AND BEDFORD.. MY FATHER DAVENED AT HIS FATHERS SHTEEBLE IN THE 50’S AND EARLY SIXTIES. AS A YOUNG CHILD GOING TO DAVEN THERE WITH MY FATHER I WILL NEVER FORGET THE WARMTH AND SMILE OF HIS FATHER, NOR WILL I EVER FORGET THE TASTE OF HIS MOTHER’S LUKSHIN KUGEL WHICH SHE SERVED EVERY SHABBOS.. EVEN THOUGH I WAS QUITE YOUNG I WAS AT R’ CHAIM’S CHASUNA, AND CHERISH THE MEMORY OF HIS FATHER HOLDING ME ON HIS LAP AT… Read more »

Rabbi Rubins home was open to all those that didn’t otherwise have a place to eat their Shabbos meals. Every person no matter where he came from or what he was doing with his life at the time was respected by this great man
Rabbi Rubin was a true eidel chassidisher yid, he will be missed at the shul, very much till moshiach comes.
I’m sure he will be mailitz yosher on us and push hard to send moshiach down. Enough golus
I needed a place to daven for Yom Tov. The shul I went to in the past had all seats sold. Doing some research I found the phone number for Beis Dovid Gershon. I called and Rabbi Rubin answered. He was the nicest guy, very welcoming. This has been my shul in Crown Heights ever since. He will be missed.

He embodied greatness. A brilliant man who’s life was completely entrenched in torah and maasim tovim. Humble in a way that’s hard to find these days. He leaves a big void

My family used to Daven there as a child I would go every Shabbos beautifule Tiflos!
He was a very Upgehiter Yid and a big Yirei Shomayim.

When did he become the Rav of the Shul?
I know that Rabbi Moshe Chait z”l, later Rosh Yeshiva of Yeshiva Chofetz Chaim in Yerusholayim, was Rav of the Shul at one time, circa late 50’s-early 60’s.
Because of his tireless efforts my mother won custody battle which kept me in the Torah world.
