Rabbi Avraham Yosef Gellis, a respected Lubavitcher Chosid from Bnei Brak, Israel, passed away on Tuesday, 1 Sivan, 5782.
He was 86.
Rabbi Gellis was a devoted Chosid, who merited to have Yechidus with the Frierdiker Rebbe as well as the Rebbe.
He was the founder of the Chabad Shul in the Naveh Achiezer neighborhood in Bnei Brak, Israel.
He was a dedicated Chosid who has children and grandchildren who are Chassidim and Shluchim who follow in his ways.
He is survived by his wife, Leah Gellis, and children: Nechama Kramer – Miami, Florida, Gita Steiner – Nachlas Har Chabad, Israel, Rabbi Yisroel Gellis – Dimona, Israel, Raizy Fischer – Givat Shmuel, Israel, R’ Aharon Gellis – Cochav Yair, Israel, Geulah Tal – Hod Hasharon, Israel, Rabbi Dovid Gellis – Lod, Israel, Rabbi Asher Gellis – Tel Aviv, Israel, R’ Yehuda Gellis – Crown Heights, Avigail Weinberg – Bnei Brak, Israel, and Odelia Friedman – Kiryat Gat, Israel.
He is also survived by his sister Chava Cohen – Crown Heights.
The levaya will take place today at 4:30 PM in Bnei Brak Israel.
