World renowned lecturer and former Rabbi of Bais Shmuel Chabad Rabbi YY Jacobson toured this week the new 2-million dollar mikvah being built at the center of Crown Heights, with its director, Rabbi Moshe Pinson.
“This is an incredible mikvah,” said Rabbi Jacobson. “Besides the aesthetical beauty and charm, the mikvah itself will utilize (cleaned) rain water coming from the roof. This is a rarity in the world today.”
Rabbi Jacobson watched as the workers sanded down the floor for the entire structure, preparing for the laying of the concrete over the next few days.
“This is an incredible undertaking,” Jacobson remarked. “$400,000 is needed to complete the mikvah. This is our future, let us get it together. If even one additional woman begins using a mikvah, it is all worth it, never mind when it is obvious that many, many will begin using the mikvah and with a new enthusiasm and sense of joy.”
He suggested: “Many families are completing Sifrei Torah in tribute to loved ones. That is wonderful. But I think there are enough Sifrei Torah in our shuls B”H. Now let us invest in ensuring the purity and holiness of our living sifrei Torah, the future children who will be born in utmost holiness,” he said.
