Reb Isser Goldstein, a longtime resident of Crown Heights, passed away on Shabbos, 20 Iyar, 5782.
He was 75 and passed away after a hard-fought illness.
Reb Isser had the zechus to be mekarev to Chabad in the early 1980s through the mivtza of writing a letter in the Sefer Torah. He was a businessman living in Southern Texas, when he was approached to participate in the Rebbe’s mivtza Sefer Torah. Through this fortuitous meeting, R’ Isser became involved with Chabad and got closer with the Rebbe.
R’ Isser later moved to Crown Heights, where he lived for nearly 30 years. He served as gabbai of Reines Shul for many years, and later became a regular at R’ Getzel’s Shul on Kingston Avenue. He enjoyed a “geshmak” in Chasidus and other learning in R’ Getzel’s Shul, and Congregation Levi Yitzchok in Los Angeles, where he lived for several years. He recently moved to Florida with his wife, Golda.
R’ Isser always had a smile and joyful spirit. He is survived by his wife Golda, his sons Feivel (Phil), Dovid, Reuven, daughter Chavi (Menachem) Rubinstein, and sister Nan Carson.
The levaya will be in Houston.
The family will be sitting shiva in Houston, S. Jose, CA, and Los Angeles, CA.

May Hashem comfort the family among the other mourners of Zion and Jerusalem.
When I came to America-poor penniless without hope or a job.
Knowing Isser…
May his soul, now in the world of everlasting life, be a source of blessing for his family, for much health, happiness, nachas, and success.
May Hashem comfort them among the mourners of Tzion and Yerushalayim.

Although I am more than 35 years his junior, I was privileged to have isser as a friend for the past 15 years. May Hashem Yisbarech bring true nechama to his family.

Spent many Shabbosim at Isser table, in the formative years of our family, with his family. A doll of a guy!! Always soooooo warm & welcoming. May you be comforted and have him back in your arms, very very soon. Dobra Spinner
I first met Reb Isser at a NJ tech company, that we both were salesmen at in 1990. He took me under his wing, as a mentor, and really “showed me the ropes”! I loved his unique style of realness, comedy, and expression. We kept up through all the years that followed, enjoying the camaraderie and friendship, ever since.
I’m really gonna miss you, bro!

Erwin and I were kids together in Houston…..later reconnecting through Reb Dovid in recent years. Isser was a sweet man and I appreciate the richness of his life. We attended Camp Young Judea and shared schools. Interesting synchronicity….without any prior knowledge… is that 42 years ago, I bought his family’s historic home, where I still live! They had owned it from about 1917-1970! When restoring the home, I archived the old mezuzah, not knowing at the time to whom it belonged. Now the circle is complete…..his memory is already a blessing
