The Rebbe’s fierce opinion against the concept of “retirement” was quoted at the monthly gathering of members of Rabbinical Alliance of America – Igud HaRabanim.
They met Sunday, May 16, at Beis Medrash Divrei Yisroel at 120 Avenue I in the Boro Park-Kensington neighborhood of Brooklyn.
In his remarks, Rabbi Abraham Hecht, President of the Igud who lives today in Crown Heights, eloquently analyzed what a retired rabbi does with his time.
Rabbi Hecht recalled discussing the issue with the Lubavitcher Rebbe who revealed that, “though he was of advanced age, he had no intention of retiring.”
He added that the Rebbe held that a rabbi never retires since his function is to learn Torah and that never stops.

Not retire does not mean not to switch jobs.
There are too many old people in their positions who stifle any growth.
we love you!!
