R’ Aaron Baitz, a longtime Crown Heights resident, passed away on Sunday, 3 Kislev, 5782.
He was 70.
R’ Aron Yoel Halevi Baitz arrived in America from Israel on his own as a bochur. The Rebbe would walk home alone until R’ Aaron and friends would follow the Rebbe so that he would not be alone. When the Rebbe pushed for people to learn gemara he learned countless gemara baal peh.
He was very involved with the Ksav Sofer shul and started the farbrengens there every Shabbos. He built a beautiful family with many children and grandchildren. He built a successful business and gave a lot of Tzedaka.
R’ Baitz suffered from complications due to coronavirus for many months. He was welcomed home from the hospital by family and friends in an emotional event in July of 2020. Sadly, he passed away today.
His beloved wife, Yehudis Chava obm passed away On Purim 5780.
He is survived by his children, Rivky Teitelbaum – Coral Springs, FL, Tova Berger – Los Angeles, CA, Shlomie Baitz – Monsey, NY, Chani Weinstein – Crown Heights, Nina Safar – Los Angeles, CA, Mendy Baitz – Crown Heights, Mushkie Brady – Los Angeles, CA, Sari Halon – Long Island, Shanie Amram – Marine Park, Debby Baitz – Crown Heights, and Michal Baitz – Crown Heights.
He is also survived by his siblings Sima Fisher, Bnei Brak, Israel; Batsheva Baitch, Kfar Chabad, Israel; Yosef Yitzchak Baitch, Kfar Chabad, Israel; Chana Knopfler, Brooklyn, NY; Menachem Mordechai Baitch, Jerusalem, Israel; Levi Baitch, Kfar Chabad, Israel, Yakov Dov Baitch, Crown Heights, Sara Necha Eidelman, Brooklyn, NY, Shaul Baitch, Kfar Chabad; Tova Rivkin, Kfar Chabad.
The Levaya will take place tomorrow, Monday

This is beyond heartbreaking. May the family find comfort and know no more pain.

He always had a kind word, whether he just met my realitave, or was at a shiur that my brother gave or just stam something nice, It was nice to meet him.
For a while he arranged the 8:30 minyan (that later become the 9:30 Minyan) – at Ksav Sofer, many Chosheveh Rabonim davened at the minyan and he would show much Hadras Koved to them.

My uncle Aron was an incredible person. He had a huge personality and an even bigger heart. I always enjoyed talking to him. He read so many books and could carry in depth conversations on so many different topics. He did not follow the herd and had his own ideas and opinions. This breaks my heart. It is a loss too painful to comprehend. He was always so full of life. Smiling and joking all the time. I am So sad for the Baitz family. May they find comfort and his Neshama have an aliya.
