Chabad of South Broward Headquarters in Hallandale Beach, Florida, celebrated Purim like never before in their 34 year history.
Over 1,000 people participated in 5 Megillah Readings held at their main center, 400 people took part in the “Miami Heat Purim Feast”, and over 2,000 seniors in nursing homes and patients in hospitals throughout South Broward received Shalach Monos Purim gift bags from staff and volunteers of Chabad of South Broward and from the students of the Chaya Aydel Seminary.
This was the 34th consecutive year that Chabad of South Broward orchestrated a massive Purim Campaign to bring the joy of Purim to the loneliest of people, who were not able to go to a Synagogue for the joyous Holiday. “We did what the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M Schneerson, (1902-1994) told us to do. We went out of our way to bring the joy of Purim to people who without our efforts, would have been forgotten,” said Rabbi Raphael Tennenhaus, Chabad’s executive vice president.
With twelve Chabad Centers in South Broward, (and a 13th Center opening in several weeks), Chabad of South Broward and its branches had some 3,000 people attend their Megillah readings, in addition to the countless readings in hospitals and nursing homes. Special thanks for this massive Mivtzah Purim goes to Rabbi Levi Tennenhaus and Dassy Tennenhaus, Mr Joey Mammon, Rabbi Moshe Schwartz, Rabbi Mordy Feiner, Rabbi Mendy Tennenhaus, Rabbi Yossy Lebovics and the Chaya Aydel Seminary.
