Preschool and elementary girls of Cheder Chabad of Monsey celebrated Lag Ba’Omer with a rally and a parade, followed by an afternoon of fun and activities.
Director Rabbi Yisroel Shusterman addressed the students, pesukim were recited with chayos in the zechus of specific individuals, followed by a short video of the Rebbe.
Macaroni the Clown entertained the crowd with his tricks, juggling and uni-cycling. Then began the Great Parade. The theme for the four floats, designed and built from scratch by the 5th to 8th graders, was the number 7, tying in with Shmittah year.
The “floats” at the Pre-K class than followed. Designed by their Morah Chaya Rochel Shkedi, the children drove Cozy Coupe toy cars with Jewish therms on their roof. They stole the show and the hearts of the parents who came to watch, one teacher commented.
Following the floats the students marched class by class proudly holding their banners and flags . After lunch the Elementary School engaged in exciting competitive team sports, and the entire school enjoyed taking turns on the moon bounce and slide and being treated to yummy cotton candy and popcorn.
A special thank you to the event’s corporate sponsors, Monsey Shoes, Farkash Financial and the Sofer Center.
