Yeshiva Schools of Pittsburgh has been educating Jewish students for over 75 years.
We are proud of the thousands of yeshiva graduates who are leaders in communities all over the world. Both our boys’ school and our girls’ school buildings are located in squirrel hill which has always been known as a close-knit, friendly neighborhood. However, recently it was thrust into the limelight. The Tree Of Life synagogue was the target of the worse anti-Semitic attack in US history!
Our little neighborhood is changed forever.
Among the many outcomes of this tragedy is the realization of our vulnerability.
A good school focuses on scholastic excellence but today, we must also provide a safe and secure environment. Then our dedicated teachers can teach and our precious students can learn. But advanced protection and trained armed security guards come with a hefty price tag. We ask that you partner with us and donate funds designated to keeping our children safe. And we promise to continue to produce the next generation of Jewish leaders.
Today, at 12:00pm, we will be holding a 36 hour fundraiser, to raise $150,000 which will go directly towards the added costs of security at our school.
We ask that you partner with us and donate funds designated to keeping our children safe. Thanks to generous matchers, all donations will be tripled! Your $100 donation will equal $300 for Yeshiva!

As a mother I feel I am more prepared then ever before. I suggest everyone goes through this training if you are able. Every shul, school and moised should arrange for this training at their facility. Call one of the schools and get the info on the frum people that put on this training. They travel and are excellent! Thank you to those that arranged it… Read more »
Y doesn’t the city itself provide security, & just pay a security gaurd, y do they have to raise the $$$

Since then Mr. McDoodle has been serving as security and the hanhola have enforced stricter rules on the operation of the front doors during school hours. I also remember a time when there were two cameras; one at each entrance. In the last ten years or so they’ve added several more. Bill (Boruch) McDoodle does a good job and the cameras work, but there is still a lot of room… Read more »
