Sarochel Markel (right) and her longtime JNet chavrusa (left), Shoshana (Jessica) Nocks, started learning over the phone with JNet when they were both single.
What started as 30 minutes blossomed into a deep friendship that was strengthened when they both moved to New York. They continued learning together with JNet even after they both got married.
This photo was taken at the hospital shortly after the birth of Shoshana’s first son, who was named Tzvi Hirsh at his bris lest week.
You look great! From a Tfas Dira mate.
Did anyone notice this friendship started with a telephone chavrusa arranged by JNet?
I started with them years ago, and have 2 very special relationships with the women I learn with. Seeing them grow in Yiddishkeit is (almost) like watching a newborn grow and develop.
So Sarochel & Shoshana, I hope your friendship will inspire many others to pick up the phone and share the beauty of our Torah with someone thirsting for knowledge.
