In an effort to bring the case of Sholom Rubashkin to the attention of the President and media, volunteers have worked hard and prepared hundreds of catchy signs in support of Rubashkin. They are urging anyone and everyone who cares about this cause to come ASAP to the following places to pick up (remember, stores will be closing early):
– 770 downstairs (near big pushka)
– The Sushi Spot
– Kol Tuv outside
– Kahn’s
– B.R. Crown St
– Albany Bakery
– Empire Kosher
Organizer’s Instructions: Starting from early afternoon (don’t wait till 2:00 or 3:00 pm, it may be too late), pay attention to any sign of the motorcade and head out to the street and display your signs. Please be alert and please be patient. Please be sure to be on the street as well for the President’s return trip (might be via a different avenue)!
When you pick up your signs, please pick up a few more to hand to your family, friends and to other people on the street.
Remember the word’s of Mordechai to Esther: Revach vehatzalah yaamod layehudim… To paraphrase the Rebbeim’s explanation: Sholom Mordechai will surely be freed in a big Kiddush Hashem, the question is only will YOUR NESHAMA HAVE THE ZECHUS?
Please act today and show the President, show the media and show Sholom Mordechai that you care!
Sholom Mordechai is sitting right now in hell. His family is in incredible pain.
Imagine his feeling to know that YOU left your house on a busy Shabbos afternoon to pick up a sign and display it to the world. That he is not forgotten.
Take a few minutes of YOUR FREEDOM, throw away your BASHFULNESS (true its the siman of yid, but it comes with Rachmanim and Goimlei Chassadim), and hold a sign high up for the world to see.
May Hashem answer all of our tefillos.
Will it help or not? No one knows for sure. But please, please do your part. All it takes is to head out to one of the many locations above and pick up 1, 2 or 3 signs (share with others) and display them when the time comes. Give your 27 minutes for a Yid and his family’s 27 years! We don’t know the results, but sitting on the sidelines and watching will surely not bring any results. Don’t be bashful, don’t make too many cheshbonos. Just get away from your work, your kitchen, your sefer, your Toa’meh Chayim Zochu,… Read more »
If anything it is a demonstration. It is just people holding signs along the route. There is not going to be hours of picketing with chants and rants on megaphones.
Keep it simple and there will be no chillul Hashem.
It is also highly unlikely that there will be any media reporting on the presidents travel route. Media reports will be on the event on the presidents agenda – the school appearance.
There is manpower needed right now.
Head to the locations listed above with your friends and help get the signs into people’s hands.
This is how you can make a difference today.
Even if the President doesn’t see it, the media very well might. What will be noticed is PEOPLE HOLDING SIGNS along the route, congregate in several places along the route from Empire up Kingston to Eastern Parkway.
Instead just watching, make a difference.
At the very least, your effort will give chizuk and show Sholom Mordechai that he’s not forgotten!
thank god the community is doing something.
i wish i lived in the area so i can participate. Good shabbos
First of all the protesters should only be male especially if we’re gonna be on television. If we don’t want this to turn to a Chilul Hashem then let’s make this a KIDUSH HASHEM!!!!!
The President may be sitting in a rear-facing position as when Pres. Clinton drove down Eastern Pkwy.
i wanna see yall out there!!!!
