i remember the first year the rebbe made a shturom of getting yidden to light the menorah. i was in yeshiva and we didn’t have mitzvah tanks so instead we rented 2 station wagons and setup many menorahs and in this way lit many hundreds of menorah on each night. this was the year that the rebbe asked that many photos be taken (5746) and then sent to him. so the rebbe saw litrally hundreds of photos of menorah being lit in cars just from our 1 location!
AWSOME GOOD WORK YOU GUYS

Congratulation! Rabbi Zippel Is On The Most Comments List
I Agree %100 With #37
I agree with $40
So Nice To See Shluchim Help Each Other! You Should Have Posted A Picture Of Rabbi Zippel And Rabbi Lew Together!
Hey, we all know how brainy the Schochets are, but Rabbi Zippel has some learned nephews on his side of the family too….the Weitmans could easily have posted those sources!
WE LOVE YOU RABBI LEW!
I think rabbi tzippel, rabbi lew, and all of the other shluchim need an honor for all that they do. But not on one of these websites where within 5 minutes it is gone, because Lipa is doing a benefit concert for whales or something.
I know mrs. Zippel, she is an outstanding woman!
Go Benny!
What a Kidush hashem!
That is my uncle’s car btw!
Happy Birthday Mrs. Zippel! Many more happy and healthy years!
Amazing! That’s Rabbi Zippel! Always Spreading The Light!
“In defence of my uncle” thought about all his nephews. This could only be Motty Shochat. Go Motty. Good to see you’re still shteiging!! Even in Brussels!
1st of all to the comment about ahavas yisroel and not calling people names in public were every1 can see- forget the comments no one knows who anyone is anyways! the people who are being condemned, everyone knows who they are… where is the ahavas yisroel there? especially if the statements have no base and are most probably false. 2nd- comment y is this news worthy? this is a beautiful mitzva being performed and gives us great joy… its a nice break from the terribly tragic news that are unfortunatly happening now i know i’d rather these uplifting posts. futhermore… Read more »
to #23: only one nephew I know that can do that…go Motty!
go rabbi lew!!
Rabbi Zippel you rock and so does your daughter chaya 🙂
correction in mareh mokoim: Oz nidb’ru v.7 Res.67
Just to clarify, one can and must light in his car if he will be travelling throughout the night and won’t have a chance to light at his arrival.
Assuming that this was the case at hand (and please don’t suggest lighting on the plane).
In defence of my uncle: Sources for light in a car with a bracha even if someone’s lighting at home:
Marhasham v.4 Res.146
Tzitz Eliezer v.15 Res.29
Oz Nidberu v.7 Res. 63
It’s worse than wikileaks.
Mazal Tov per tua mamma!!!! Benny ignora tutti questi ……… Bravo Benny!!!!!
this is a beautiful display of the brotherhood by shluchim. a undoubtly busy shliach drove half an hour to the airport waited with rabbi tzipple for at least a half hour and drove half an hoir back just to help anoher yid/shliach light the menorah
It’s entitled “Picture of the Day”…..not “Breaking News”!!!
Can someone please tell me why this is news worthy
means he has someone under him and so far he is the only shliach so he is the utah shliach!!!!!!!!!
YOU ROCK!!
you’re a SMART Chossid (you know who I am!!)
He is not “Utah Shliach” he is “Utah HEAD Shliach:”
Rabbi Lew drove off with the menorah still burning in the back of his car. He was pulled over and had a hard time explaining himself.
#7 you are completely off base, even if you will find a source that you can light the Menorah in a car with a bracha (which I seriously doubt), still the reasoning will not be as you claim “you canm in fact, light Menorah in a car (if there is a must), for this is his (or her) “home” at this time”.
Halachicaly, if someone in your household lit a candle in your home, then you already fulfilled the mitzva and there is no must to light it in a car with a bracha.
Benny apparently stayed with the lights till they went out…and would have missed his flight were it not that t the plane had a mechanical fault and he was able to board regardless – a real Chanukah miracle.
Hello, please stop it!
Tell me, would you like if someone would call you “smarty pants” on a website where everyone could see?
WHERE’S THE AHAVAS YISROEL?
Rabbi Zippel helped me in ways that noone will ever know! He does so much good, in such a quiet way, to help his fellow shluchim……besides the thousands of Jews he’s helped in Utah!!! You are a TRUE shliach!!! Keep making the Rebbe proud!!!
R’Tzipel…. R’Galandauer Shlit’a sends you his greetings…… memba’ him?
A VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY, AND MANY HAPPY TETURNS, GEZUNTERHEIT, MRS. KELLY ZIPPEL!!!!!
SHNAS HATZLOCHO BAKOIL!!!
MOSHIACH NOW!!!
RABBI AND MRS. AVROHOM LIPSKIER
You don’t know what you’re talking about! Ask any Rov, and he will say that you canm in fact, light Menorah in a car (if there is a must), for this is his (or her) “home” at this time. Please check your sources before making bold and irresponsible statements.
could you please explain why Mr. smarty pants? as far as halocho is concernd you are able to light a menorah anywhere
Making me proud!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i”m gonna be famous in yeshiva for a whole day now, thanx…………………
I respect Rabbi Benny Tzipple (a lot), however please explain lighting a Menorah in a car!
As far as I’m concerned you can’t do that, you can’t light in a car.
You definitely cant make a brochah and you cant be yotze Mitzvas Chanuka.
Please explain
where there’s a will
there’s a way!
you go benny
