Why do some feel the need to comment negatively? Hundreds will pass by and give the guy some money – it takes no effort or time. These young men cared!! Your parents should be proud! Shep nachas Miriam and Mrs. Shifrin.
Yehudis Leiter

I think the Bochrim probably did give him tzedaka as well,

if they had the extra dollar on them. They did an amazing mitzvah, it’s just that he needs greater help or intervention. Too bad someone more experienced, mature and possibly professional can’t follow up on this. That would be quite a terrific mitzvah also.

כל הכבוד to the two fine young Bochurim!

David Harris of Times Square Consulting was so impressed, snapped a photo and sent it into Chabad. We never know the ripple affect one good deed has on others!
Yaasher Koach to two super Bochrim!!! Way to go Friedfertig and Shifrin!

Shmulie Friedfertig – your middle name is synonymous with kindness and caring!
Why does it not surprise us that it was you who stopped and made this persons day with your big heart, a good word and a tefillin wrap! May this tip the scale to bring Moshiach!
Yechi HaMelech!

Illogical argument. So you wont give him money bc he will get drugs. But now he will die in the street anyway starvation because you didn’t give him anything. Let’s not play Gd here. When someone asks it means they need. If you can’t give him a sandwich at least give him a dollar and spare his dignity.

to #2 I don't like saying this but...

the likelihood is that this poor young man is on drugs. it doesn’t make it less of a rachamanus, it makes it more. but giving him money or material aide can be the worst thing for him.

Go Shmuli Friedfertig

Beatiful to see the light of the Rebbe being spread all over! Kol Hakavod to the Bochrim for taking time and showing interest in this poor Neshama not many boys would do that!

Shmulie you did it once again!!
September 6, 2017 8:18 pm

Go Shmulie Friedfertig BEST GUY AROUND!! You truly exemplify what a Chossid is in todays day and age! Keep making the Rebbe proud.

I agree with #2

Is there no Jewish-run
September 6, 2017 7:29 pm

shelter, home & or training place he could be referred to? If not that’s a disgrace for the Jewish community at large. He needs to beg from goyim who may eventually help him, along with conversion incentives??

His yarmulka
September 6, 2017 7:21 pm

He seems to be wearing a yechi yarmuka.

prayers are nice
September 6, 2017 7:09 pm

But I’m sure he would have appreciated a few bucks and a turkey sandwich more

‏ good job!!
September 6, 2017 5:54 pm

We hope & pray that no yid should end up this way especially
In Times that “hamelch basode” & we shold ‘hang out’ in the “sode” only to greet him and not for other reasons like these cha”v
