Mashi Butman spent this past Simchas Torah in a hospital in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, where her 26-day-old son underwent an emergency operation.
Her husband, Rabbi Bentzion Butman walked back and forth during the holiday to be with his wife and child and to lead services at Chabad Cambodia Jewish Center.
“I tried not to cry,” the father said. “I recalled the story of a chossid that forced himself to dance on Simchas Torah despite his son’s illness. The Rebbe Maharash later told him: What you accomplished with happiness, I couldn’t accomplish with prayers.”
On Thursday morning, the baby Levik Butman was released from the hospital.
May he have a complete Refuah shleima. Keep up the awesome work on the front lines!
