But it’s even better to find out the mincha and maariv times there and he’ll be already downstairs near the family room when you visit, but either way you can call first or just go to the front desk and ask for charlie

Charlie!

Ya know, folks like Charlie.. one in a million.

Every day guy, slightly zany. But Charlie was there at your shalom zachor, your lechaim, your wedding… And for many, all 3.

Trademark denim bib overall. Buttons.. how can we have Charlie without buttons.

In later years, or maybe because I got older, I remember Charlie soliciting a bit, some money for balloons…

Are ya kidding me.. of course.. humble guy . World needs more simple goodness.

I remember charlie

A person a neshama that brought a much needed smile on the Rebbe’s face…. Doesn’t he deserve 5-10 min of your time for a smile in return ? תיזכו למצוות בשורות טובות

More than two decades ago, when I was a bochur, I and my friend decided to give him $50 each, totaling $100 so he can buy new overalls. He was refusing, but due to our persistence reluctantly accepted and said: “Will spend all on balloons”.

Many thought his choice of clothing was awkward. But watching him wear it for decades I understood the logic. One piece of clothing, made from very heavy jeans material and lasting for number of years. That was certainly more often than he would change it.

A special chossid!!

Wishing him much health! Someone who brings joy to children and to a chosson and kallah is truly a special neshama.

Thank you for sharing

I was just thinking of him and I want to visit him!
What kind of books does he like?

L’Chaim

Mr. Nassofer(Charlie Buttons) is not just a special neshama, but also well educated. He is a graduate of the John Jay School of Criminal Justice. And yes, he wore buttons back then too. What would bring Mr. Nassofer some joy? It’s probably been some time since he had a L’Chaim and it would be nice if someone could bring him some. Maybe just bring him a little airline size bottle. A bisel alcohol is good for the soul and the arteries.
