In honor of Chof Ches Sivan, a new photo of Rebbetzin Chaya Mushka Schneerson in her youth was released to the public by the RebbeDrive website.
The Rebbetzin, daughter of the Rebbe Rayatz and future wife of the Rebbe, is seen standing alongside another girl her age in the undated black and white photo.
The 28th of Sivan marked the day the Rebbetzin and Rebbe arrived in New York in 1941 after escaping Nazi-occupied Paris.
They boarded the SS Serpa Pinto in Lisbon, Portugal, and reached the shores of the United States of American on Monday, June 23–Sivan 28 at 10:30 A.M.
Shortly after his arrival, the Rebbe’s father-in-law, the then Lubavitcher Rebbe Rabbi Yoseph Yitzchak Schneersohn, appointed him to head the social and educational outreach programs of Chabad-Lubavitch.
Thus the Rebbe began his decades-long revolutionary work to revitalize Jewish life in the Western Hemisphere, which spread, by means of the shluchim he dispatched from his New York headquarters to every part of the world, Chabad.org writes.
The “other girl” was my grandmother, Rebbetzin Nacha Rivkin, a”h, wife of Rav Moshe Dovber Rivkin zt”l. The photo was taken in approximately 1915 . Also, sorry (note #9, above) but you are not correct about my mother, Rebbetzin Pesia Rivkin a”h of St. Louis. She fled Vienna and also lived in England before arriving in the U.S. at age 11.

reb. rivkin of st. louis was born in usa..her mother -in-law, REbbitzen Nacha Rivkin AH, wife of Reb Berel Rivkin, WAS the rebitzens dear friend since their childhood..

I heard there exists a picture of the Rebbetzin with Rebbetzin Rifkin from St Louis as teenagers.
I guess that its her friend Raizel from Czechoslovakia …………just a guess?!
this is royalty at its best-the simple look hides trhe Rebbetzins innate brillyance-it is very much an other-wordly spiritual look-but it is so by the Rebbe as well
