The simcha. Yiddishe pride. The achdus. You could feel it. It was real.
As classes followed floats, and students, staff, and families marched side by side, Cheder Chabad of Philadelphia took to the streets. With a police escort and a talented 4th grade marching band we were on the move.
Each float, a handcrafted work of art, was both a learning experience for the students and a message to the public. Shining and laughing, we marched as one – enjoying the antics of clowns while taking the opportunity to do mivtzoim with the onlookers.
Pesukim, a packed carnival (bounce houses, balloon twister, art and more!) – it was a day to be remembered! And of course of notable mention – a siyum harambam to end the day with a bang.
It was powerful. The students owned it. It was real teamwork involving every facet of the school. And we enjoyed it as one.
