Learning Torah pays off…
Married members of 4 Chabad Kollel institutes in New York City have received a financial stipend towards their Pesach expenses.
The gift was given by Crown Heights philanthropist and real-estate mogul Shalom Ber Drizin and will reward $500 for each Kollel member.
A year or so after their wedding – before leaving on Shlichus or finding a job – Kollel members find themselves in a tight financial position with only a modest stipend for their learning, even with their wives working.
Drizin gave the donation to the Kolel Menachem Lubavitch, under the Rebbe’s secretariat, Midtown Manhattan Chabad Kolel, Upper East Side Kolel of Manhattan and Kollel Torah Center.
In charge of distributing the checks are Crown Heights residents R’ Eli Slavin, a confidant of Drizin and R’ Noach Fox, gabbai of the Kollel shul.
