Rabbi Yehuda Krinsky, Chairman of Merkos L’Inyonei Chinuch and Machne Israel, the educational and social services arms of the Lubavitch movement, will be the guest of the Kinus Hashluchim of Paris.
Scheduled for Sunday, the 7th of Iyar, it will be the 16th annual gathering of over 150 Chabad rabbis who lead Chabad centers, educational institutions and humanitarian services in France’s capital city.
Rabbi Krinsky, who served as the Rebbe‘s personal secretary for over 40 years, will be addressing the gala banquet which will conclude the day-long conference.
This is the first gathering since this year’s passing of the beloved and revered Head Shliach of Paris, Rabbi Shmuel Azimov OBM. Known simply as ‘Moule’, he is credited with leading a Jewish revival in France.
A central session during the Kinus will be dedicated to examining his unique personality, pioneering approach, dedication to education and the many instructions and interaction he had with the Rebbe over the years.
The Kinus is being organized by his sons Rabbi Mendel Azimov and Rabbi Levi Azimov who took over the reins of Beth Loubavitch in Paris which oversees the Shluchim’s activities and a network of Chabad Hebrew schools in the city.
Another point of interest will be Chabad’s response to the recent terror attacks, one of them targeting a kosher grocery, and the continued wave of anti-Semitism posing a security threat to Jewish centers.
I can think of nothing more appropriate then having Rabbi Krinsky come for the first Kinus. Rabbi Krinsky is one of the only few people around today who were handpicked by the Rebbe for various responsibilities. Appointed by the Rebbe to the three central mosdos and as a mazkir of the Rebbe for almpst forty years, there is likely no one else in Lubavitch today with as much direction from the Rebbe in areas of hafotzas hamayonos and hafotzas hayadus.
