BMD this year won’t be just the Bar Mitzvah Division at Camp Gan Israel of Detroit.
The camp has reconsidered their program after a group of parents have appealed to them to re-accept their 8th grade-age boys who have already attended the camp previously.
Although typically the BMD has been geared towards 13-year-old boys who are shortly after their Bar Mitzvah, these parents said they wanted their children to enjoy the camp once more.
“They said they feel the tremendous impact the BMD had on their sons would be even more fortified through a second summer,” said Director Rabbi Bentzion Shemtov, and in response, he has opened registration to all 13 and 14 year-old bochurim.
Running the division this year are Head Counselors Shlomo Yosef Weiser of Vienna, Austria and Yaakov Dovid Kotlarsky of New City, New York.
Bochurim of both ages will be privy to exclusive trips and activities coupled with a comprehensive mesivta– preparation–based curriculum for which BMD Detroit is well known for.
The unique Chassidisher atmosphere which pervades in BMD Detroit, and the dedicated guidance of the Mashpiya Rabbi Yosef Gourarie guarantees to instill a 13-14 year old bochur with the values so vital and rare in today’s world.
Regular BMD applicants can apply at http://www.cgidetroit.com/. For 8th grade age applications, email [email protected] before Sunday Vov Nissan/ March 17.
