Over 5,000 people took part in the Lag BaOmer and Walk 4 Jewish Education parade and celebration in Toronto on Sunday.
The event was organized jointly by Tzivos Hashem of Toronto, Chabad Lubavitch of Ontario and Chabad Lubavitch institutions from across the greater Toronto area.
The event began with a children’s rally and included a bike stunt show and a red convertible clown car with over 15 clowns.
The event continued with the Walk and Parade 4 Jewish Education along Bathurst Street led by the Tzivos Hashem Marching band and followed by a float created by Yeshivas Lubavitch of Toronto where many schools and community groups walked in celebration of Lag BaOmer and in support of Jewish Education.
The walk ended at Earl Bales Park where participants took part in a Lag Baomer fun fair and carnival with fun rides, games and food. A traditional Lag Baomer bonfire and live music by the Hatzadikim band concluded the event.

A’grose Yasher Koach goes out to Rabbi Matis Stebben who headed up the marching band this year. They did an amazing job!!!!!!!
FROM AND INSIDER WHO KNOWS IT WAS JUST REPORTED THAT A SIGNIFIGANT PART OF THE RELISH WAS SPONSORED BY THE VAAD HATZEDAKAH OF TORONTO,
BUT THE EXCITING NEWS IS THAT
Harav Shlomo Miller gave the ok to release the relish.
It is unclear yet who was the one that brokered the deal but sources say that rabbi Chanoch nelkin closed the deal at a meeting that toook place throught the night prior to the parade.
I think the camp is call Camp Rivka Rochel.
To #17
You must have confused Lubavitch Day Camp, greatest camp in the world, with Camp Rivka Brocha.
Chabad of Southern Ontario in conjunction with all Toronto and surrounding area Shluchim as well as Tzivos Hashem in Toronto sponsored the event.
Someone who knows first hand!
go sholom guleizer you totaly rock
Wishhh i was there!!
it was amazing! I LOVE THE MINI COOPER!
i cant believe that the shluchim were able to bring out 12,000!!!
its almost as big as the new york parade,
can anyone confirm that number?
It must have been with the help of the russian community that brought so many out
chazak
12,000 and counting bli ayin harah
i think more emphasis has to go to rabbi binyamin steinmetz who watched his kids all the time that his wife was working
i live in toronto. Camp Leah Rivka is a camp just opened this up coming summer!
Who is writing that Moshe Lipshits sponsored the event. He did give not one red cent to the event.
From someone that knows.
this is the secend prade toronto made.
Reb Moshe is a Lubavitcher Baal Habos that lives in Toronto.
Reb Moshe who is known the world over as a tremendous Baal Tzedakah graciously sponsored the entire parade, including the helicopter! A major yasher koach to him, without his support it would not happen.
who’s Moshe Lipshitz and what’s Camp Leah Rivka?
L.R
Toronto, Ontario
…and don’t forget the parade sponsors – Moshe Lipshitz and Camp Leah Rivkah. Go Toronto!!!!!
who has pictures of the March, the show, the amazing carnival and rides all the booths …? the people ? we have to post them surely someone has better pictures.
The whole event was amazing, the behind the scenes work
that Rabbi Spalter , Esti Steinmetz The Grossbaums, and all the volunteers who worked for the first few hours in the rain
(yes, believe it or not it was raining in the early a.m.) truly surpassed everyones wildest imagination. the event was
stupendous . The turnout, the volunteers, the organization, all was a big Kiddush Hashem. Thank you all!
What about Estee Steinmetz? How can you forget the main one????
Making it all happen for Toronto!! Incredible!!
there were tons of people there! kol hakovod modern day miracle how the sun came out
The biggest yahser koach is to Esti Steinmetz!!
i dont think there were 20,000 people but a goodf guestemate would be 12,000 dont forget rabbi steinmetz who runs the day camp and who organized the hatzalah booth, the steinmetzes really put there heart and soul into it. May Hashem bless them with chasidishe children following in the shlichus and lubavitch path of their parents,
Go benche go!!
and ole friend from
is this toronto’s first year making a parade? i dont remember being by one before?
Mrs. Esti Steinmetz who coordinated the whole event.
GO TORONTO!!!!!
let’s not forget Esti Steimetz who put in a tremendous amount for this parade!!
i would say about 20 thousand is a better estimate
The morning started off with clouds and rain. By 12;00pm when the parade was called for, the sun came out in full glory making the event a great success. We all had sunburns to attest to the Kiddish Hashem that Lag B’Omer brought that day.
Kol Hakavod to the organizers! it was a beautiful event and a tremendous Kiddush Hashem. A special Yasher Koach to Rabbi Moshe Spalter and Rabbi Itchy Grossbaum from Lubavitch of Ontario, and to Rabbi Yona Valenkin from Tzivous Hashem of Toronto. The above pictures don’t really do justice, there were well over five thousand people at the parade.
