Batya Shmueli and her husband Hed are the new guests of the South African Zionist Federation to connect the local Jewish community with Israel.

Shmueli was recently interviewed by Chabad Shluchim Rabbi Dovid Wineberg and his assistant Rabbi Pinny Hecht at the Marais Road Shul in Cape Town, South Africa.

She tells her journey from a village on the Blue Nile in Ethiopia to the Holy Land of Israel and her family’s shock when they heard the Beis Hamikdash was destroyed.
