Chabad of Orange County, led by Shluchim Pesach and Chana Burston held a grand community “Purim Under the Sea” party a the Goshen Harness Museum in Goshen, New York.
More than 200 people partook in the mitzvos of Purim, with fun and creativity. In addition, many men participated in mivtza Tefilin, including a gentleman who put on tefilin for the first time, thus making an impromptu Purim-Bar Mitzvah dance!
Celebrants enjoyed a sea food menu as well as a sand-pail salad bar, jell-and-jelly fish desserts as well as a sand-castle cake! During the megillah reading, a video of the Purim scenes formed in sand was shown. Children enjoyed a Purim Pirate comedy show.
The party was made possible through the generosity of donors and volunteers as well as the exceptional help of Oholei Torah bochurim Shlomie Schwei and Shmuli Hertz.
