Dear cousins,
As relatives that go back thousands of years to our shared grandfather Abraham, let me get straight to the point.
You are all believers of Allah — a good G-d who created all human beings with the purpose of transforming this world with virtue and justice.
You proudly trace your lineage to Ishmael son of Abraham — the one and only Abraham who stood up to an entire pagan world and single-handedly pioneered the path of kindness and love, as documented in the Torah (what you call Tawrat).
So here is my question to you: With atrocities being perpetrated by Muslims in the name of Allah — mass beheadings, rapes and murders of women and children, the killings of thousands of innocent people — why do we not hear any voice of protest from any of you?
Some argue that you silently condone and agree with this behavior. Others say that you may not advocate this viloent approach of creating an Islamic Caliphate and would prefer that it be done peacefully, but you can understand and therefore tolerate your fellow Muslims who do embrace these militant methods.
We prefer to believe that 1.5 billion of you do not approve of these methods. But if that is the case, why are none of you — not individually and not collectively, not your laymen and not your leaders — crying out in outrage?! Why are your Imams silent about this in their weekly Kutbahs (sermons)?
How about your children: What are they being told about these brutal methods?
And finally, the biggest question of all: Did you ever think what your grandfather and ancestor — the founder of your faith — would say about this behavior?
When Abraham became aware of G-ds plan to destroy the infidel cities of Sodom and Gemorrah, what did he do? One would have perhaps thought that Abraham would have celebrated the annihilation of the non-believers, the apostates and the sinners. But no! We are told — and you can read it in your very own Quran — that Abraham prayed for them, beseeching G-d to spare the city in merit of the righteous people that may live there!
So please explain: How is it possible that instead of following Abraham’s path of compassion, instead of praying for (people you consider to be) infidels, you are murdering them in cold blood?!
How can anyone claiming to be Abraham’s child — the very Abraham who introduced love and kindness to the world; the very same Abraham who prayed for an infidel nation — behead another human being?!
The basis of Islam, built upon the Torah, states that every human being is created in the Divine Image. How then can someone claiming to be a believer gruesomely murder the… Divine Image, while crying out Allahu Akhbar, God is the greatest?!…
Is this what Abraham sacrificed his life for, so that his grandchildren would in his name and in the name of G-d terrorize the world?!
How would your grandfather Abraham react to your actions??…
Sincerely,
Rabbi Simon Jacobson

Everyone, please visit the Center for Study of Political Islam at http://www.politicalislam.com. You’ll learn a lot about Jihad and it’s sources in Islam. Sadly, political islam is vitriolic and condones murder, both of kafirs as well as “believers” who are sacrificed in the name of allah.
We as Jews need to stand with all people who promote peace and unity the Noahide Code for peace… Rabbi Yakov Cohen working with Muslim world on peace and even Kosher / Halal food in public schools. ..
Reb Simon, wonderful!!
Thank you!!
Really sad to see this being put up by R. Jacobsen who should be a wee bit more balanced. There are plenty of Muslims that decry the behavior of their fellow practitioners. There is a minority that condones this behavior and most Muslims will be very clear that they do not consider these individuals Muslims, period. It is easy to get on your moral high horse as a frum Jew who has apparently very little understanding of their religion and call them out. Similarly others can and do in their ignorance call us out for our fanatical Neturei Karta and… Read more »
Maybe there could be a Shiur on the Radio in Israel in Arabic on Achdus Hashem from Shaar Hayichud Vehoemuna etc and perhaps also on the 7 Mitzvos of Bnei Noach
Sheva Mitzvos are the only alternative for mankind to embrace and become truly G-d fearing and at peace with one another guided by Rabbonim and knowledgeable shluchim. The Rebbe was/is such a visionary! The Rebbe wisely recognized decades ago that without the Sheva Mitzvos the Arab and Muslim “leaders” will fill their confused souls with a creed of violence and destruction. This is the case in Eretz Yisroel – and shame on the Israeli politicians who upended the Sheva Mitzvos miftzoim that were making such a positive impact in Israel in Arab villages. So too should these efforts reach out… Read more »
They r afraid of being punished by their fellow Muslims for speaking.
In response to Rabbi Simons Jacobson’s open letter, a person I highly respect, I offer a very different perspective. I am very sorry to seriously disagree with his Kool aid, “politically correct” influenced open letter to the Muslim world. Abraham fought and killed many, when he needed to, and the same Torah that describes all human beings as created in the image of G-d commands us to totally and completely obliterate any visage of memory of certain tribes. The Torah commands us to kill before being killed. And one of the signs of Mr. Moshiach himself, the ultimate redeemer for… Read more »
Far better to leave Abraham out of it. It was Abraham, after all, who banished a young helpless child – Yishmael – from his home ( see Ramban’s critical comments on this )
Until the religious leaders of Muslims openly and publicly denounce the terrorists and proclaim in no uncertain terms that they will definitely go to hell and not to heaven the threat will not go away
As a child I read Bustinai and if I recall correctly Muhammad was good to the Jews and gave them a haven because of their shared faith in One G-d while he was at war with the Christians who essentially still held on to a lot of the pagan beliefs and practices
Sodom and Amorah were destroyed. And yidishkeit does have misah for 7 b”n. There is obviously an angle from which you can criticize jihad, but this one is only partly on target, and partly from a secular point of view.
Do alot of muslims frequent this site?
Wow very well said
So very true!!
Find your voice lover of peace if there is one among you.
I hope this gets shared a lot on facebook and other media
But where is this published?
Just coll doesn’t do a thing … The world must see this!!! It should be Read on talk radio for discussion and comment
Where else was this printed?
This sounds better as interview questions where people will actually answer these questions. Pleasant and formal, very classy.
Their quoran says to kill these people. Thier greatest “master” did. So how could they not. Muhammad led some very bloody and gruesome battles if you look at history. What are you trying to do? Pit them against Muhammad? It ain’t gonna work! It’s either Islam OR peice/live and let live/I’m not the is all end all…
Anyway, good luck on changing their minds. We have a LONG way to go…
But they do need to speak out a lot more. They have to admit there is a real problem with islam as preached and practiced today (as well as historically) and not be all surprised and shocked that others also feel that way
