The wear and tear on the building of Yeshivas Menachem of Buffalo, NY was piling up. The extreme weather over the past few years wasn’t helping. Neither were the various Yeshiva Kayitz programs utilizing the building during the summer.
All these factors added up to a major repair project that could no longer be pushed off.
Enter Sruli Katz, a very grateful alum, who like so many other alumni these past 16 years, has kept a strong and continuous connection with the Rosh Yeshiva, Rabbi Yosef Munitz.
Driven by an enthusiastic desire to “give back”, Sruli, who is himself a sought-after contractor in Connecticut, immediately sprung into action. “This is a dream I’ve had for long time,” explained Katz. “I can’t wait to finally bring it to reality.”
Reaching out to fellow alumni through phone calls and Facebook, Katz helped raise enough money to pay for the materials needed for the job. He then took time off to travel to Buffalo with his crew to update the lighting, repair the dorm rooms, and renovate the bathrooms.
“Our Yeshiva was founded to provide personal attention to each Bochur,” said a beaming Rabbi Munitz. “The gashmius side needs to project that mission as well.”
While the final touches are applied to the dorm, registration for the new year is nearing completion as well. To register or for more information please call 716-568-0121 or visit their website at www.yeshivasmenachem.com.
