On Monday Oholei Torah held a “Tzeischem L’Shalom” farewell gathering for the 156 student Shluchim who are departing for 26 communities around the world.
The evening was opened by Reb Shmaryahu Roitblatt, by saying the Rebbe’s Kapitol, which was followed by a Dvar Malchus from the Rosh Yeshiva Rabbi Yisroel Friedman.
Various bochurim spoke, including Menashe Wolff – Shliach to Toronto, Canada, Peretz Kazen – Shliach to Monsey, NY, Dovid Perelman – Shliach to London, England, Yechiel Gluckowsky – Shliach to Jerusalem, Israel, Moshe Wolvovsky – Shliach to Melbourne, Australia, and Yeshaya Zalmanov – Shliach to Brunoy, France.
Rabbi Sholom Ber Mockin, Head Shliach to Montreal Canada, was the guest speaker, who imparted to the Talmidei Hashluchim the importance and unique quality of being the Rebbe’s shliach.
Rabbi Dovid Kahanov spoke on behalf of the parents, and thanked the Hanhola of Oholei Torah for all they have done for their children. Rabbi Kahanov expounded on the chinuch of Oholei Torah and the special connection it has with the Rebbe. Rabbi Nachman Schapiro, Mashpia in Oholei Torah, spoke to the bochurim, and later sat and farbrenged with them late into the night.
Music was played by Moshe Katzen & Co. The event was organized and chaired by Rabbi Nosson Blumes, of the Oholei Torah Administration.
