Educational Institute Oholei Torah announces the honorees for its upcoming 58th Annual Dinner, which will be held Tuesday, May 27.
Guests of Honor are Reb Mendel and Channy B. Drizin, longtime friends of Oholei Torah and outstanding community members of Crown Heights.
The Drizins also are known as baolei chessed who quietly support many local institutions that help needy families and young children. They are proud parents to Chaim, Motti, Dina (Cohen) and Dovid Drizin.
A special Tribute is being made for Mrs. Ida Ostrow, a former member of the Brooklyn Jewish Center by her family.
Mrs. Ostrow was raised directly across from 770, and lived in Crown Heights till the 1970׳s.
The Ostrow Family has re-connected with the Center through the efforts of Rabbi Nosson Blumes. Recently Mrs. Ostrow was interviewed of her memories, which can be watched in the video below.
This year’s Community Service Award is being presented to recently elected Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams. A dear friend of the Crown Heights community, who previously served as our representative in the New York state senate.
Special Awards will be distributed to the many people who participated in the re-building of the East Flatbush Kindergarten Campus, which opened last year.
Rabbi Joseph Rosenfeld, Executive Director of Oholei Torah congratulates all the honorees for their commitment to Oholei Torah, and said “As Oholei Torah enters into an Era of Expansion, we look forward to a most successful Dinner event with the communities support.”
