Over 200 people gathered Wednesday night adjacent to the Lincolnwood Village Hall to celebrate Chanukah.
The event was titled “Occupy Lincolnwood – with the light of Chanukah.”
Journalists from Channels 5 and 7 arrived to cover what they thought was a real “Occupy event.”
They were soon to find out it was a village-wide Chanukah party.
Village Mayor Jerry Turry spoke about his first meeting with Rabbi Moshe Wolf from the Cheder Lubavitch about how to make this work with the limitations of separation between church and state.
The evening featured freshly brewed cappuccino and hot chocolate, latkes and donuts and entertainment for the children.
