The NYPD 71st Precinct in Crown Heights is expressing appreciation to Crown Heights residents and businesses for their support during the current difficult times.
A group of store and business owners in Crown Heights showed their appreciation to the officers of the 71st Precinct by sponsoring lunch on behalf of the community on Thursday.
They delivered over 40 pizza pies, french fries, and drinks to the precinct on Thursday, hand-delivered to the officers with smiles.
The lunch was sponsored by Leasing Direct, Plumbers Haven, and SBA Loan Group in appreciation of the NYPD.
“While some other areas of the city have seen tense relations between the communities and the NYPD, the 71st Precinct has maintained good ties and has continued to work with the Crown Heights Jewish community through this tense time,” they said.
The officers at the 71 Precinct said they are grateful for this and other kind gestures of the community in recent days.
“We are very grateful that the community is standing with us during these trying times,” Detective Vinny Martinos told COLlive. “We want to thank the community for their support.”
