Stop the drama

Cuomo on Wednesday said the order will apply only in situations where you can’t be physically distant from other people, like riding public transit.

“If you are going to be in a situation, in public, where you come into contact with other people in a situation that is not socially distanced you must have a mask or a cloth covering nose and mouth,” Cuomo said.

So...

Are you really claiming that you walk around the neighborhood and never come within 6 feet of anyone on the sidewalks or in stores? Because that’s what needs to be the case for you not to need a mask. And it’s literally impossible in many cases.

Thanks

I’ve noticed parents and kids alike have been very relaxed with this! I make my kids if they want to go out.

Funny

Funny, the actual guidelines is that you only have to wear a mask if you are within 6 feet of someone else – that is what coumo ordered. Funny that they make no mention of this,

wear a mask and stop looking for ways out
May 3, 2020 3:51 pm

Everyone walking down the street is within 6 ft of someone else, watch how old people have to go on the road around cars bec. kids or families are on the sidewalk, why cant everyone just learn, wear a mask and dont say i am not within 6 ft. 6ft is being nice it could travel even further.

Honestly

Because my 1 year old will not keep a mask on his face… Neither will my 3 year old. We tried. The kids throw them on the ground. They wouldn’t do it on Purim either. Should I keep my kids indoors all day? If you’re interested in offering your babysitting services and want to deal with a bunch of cranky kids who haven’t been out of their 700sqf apartment then I’m happy to oblige. Otherwise, I’m going to take my kids outside and I’m not going to make then crazy about wearing a mask. I keep them away from other… Read more »

please its been way too long now isolating the entire Country, enough is enough if those that are at high risk dont want to get it, they should not be on the streets! enough. do you know what kind of trauma Anxiety and stress (both by Adults & Children) Economic stress Danger to Cancer Patients & anyone else that is waiting on surgeries & Procedures that have been put on hold, and for what we are still loosing our old and people with underlying conditions, the problem is that they are not isolating Enough/properly. BUT NO, SORRY A CHEAP CLOTH… Read more »

there are so many people in our own community who were not high risk that got very sick and are weeks in the hospital on a ventilator…and even those who are a miracle will never be the same again! why are you saying only old people and those with underlying conditions…that is not true…you are so selfish it is unbelievable

Excuse me?!

I myself lost 3 Clos family members, no underlying issues, ALL had been isolating since the call went out (sadly just AFTER Purim)
The nerve! So you sound like the politicians that say either well, the older people just exited early, or they had it coming because they didn’t listen to instructions
A little compassion, and yes, some self-sacrifice for your fellow humans.
PS my understanding is that you need the face covering if you cannot distance, but Idk if the NYPD knows that)

Leave the Kids

the time for Quarantining the entire freakin country is over, those that are deathly at risk should not be strolling around the streets they should be locked in their homes having others take care of their errands for them.
(Especially because a simple covering over ones mouth will not protect them from a deathly highly contagious virus)

you again???

unreal…you have your head in the ground….young vibrant healthy fit people in our community have been deathly ill fighting this virus…weeks on ventilators fighting for their lives…some remain in the hospital. those who have miraculously come home will require months of recovery and will never be the same again. count your blessings and stop being so selfish

I am someone with a precondition and have spent my whole life avoiding certain situations to remain healthy, because a common cold for me could result in a week in the ER. I know what it is like to spend my childhood in the hospital, never once did it occur to me to change everyone else for my needs. I grew up learning to adapt, I do not touch doorknobs, hand washed before it was a thing and avoid homes that lack proper hygiene etc. My health is my responsibility and I stayed alive by adjusting, not by changing others.… Read more »

The question is
May 3, 2020 3:59 pm

Where do you even get masks for kids (that won’t take a month to arrive or cost a fortune for a disposable mask)?

Stop saying "I already had corona"
May 3, 2020 4:24 pm

That’s very selfish. your spreading it to others.
I’ve approached many people about this (including 2 leaders of our very own mosdos)and they had excuses like, I have a mask but it’s in my pocket, I already “had it”.your supposed to be an example.

Enough isolating the Public !!!

genuineness, a mask is going to save us!!!
the old & Compromized need to properly Self isolate, if they are walking around on the streets where thgey cannot stay distanced thats on them,
Enough is enough, people are psychologically & physically economically PAYING for this Quarantine its got to END.

so you get to decide that this quarantine must end because you had enough and do not care about anyone but yourself. the old and compromised are not the only ones that are at risk but hey who cares about anyone but you….as long as you are fine ….let whoever else die…you could care less

Older Children
May 3, 2020 5:50 pm

Lets please use our common sense of which children and age should wear a facemask, Its probably referring to older children, for Children that are 5 and under Yes its almost impossible to have them wearing a mask, i think the point of this article is trying to stay that Children of age that are not toddlers should wear a mask, to be more clear a 10 year old should Not walk outside without a mask period, he is mature enough not to take it off, a 8 year old as well, a 5 or 6 year old that really… Read more »

coronavirus makes the rules that matter
May 3, 2020 11:01 pm

Not the government. If people were aware of what was going on, they would have social distanced on Purim like I did along with everyone from Westchester and YU instead of waiting for the government to figure it out

This is an important comment, At home the kids don’t wear masks? So why do they need to wear masks when close to their brother or sisters outside in fresh air? Law inforcement are precious people that put their lifes in danger for people they don’t even know, they made an oath to uphold the constitution of the United States and they need to ask themselves if inforcing masks on kids is in line with peoples G-d given rights to fresh air? They need to ask themselves if they are hurting the very people they swore to protect? How so?… Read more »

Make an activity at home even with your 2 year old. Cut an ankle sock and make a mask with it, cut a diaper and make a mask, be creative, use your kids favorite blanket, which he will be happy to wear, google ideas, stop all the excuses..

Control control control!
May 12, 2020 10:09 pm

We already know that all the rules that the governor has put into place had practically murdered many of the people. He put corona patients into nursing homes and killed off all the nursing home patients. He didn’t allow anyone into the hospitals and how many people died of neglect and poor hygiene. He passed an executive order that records do not have to be revealed, and no law suits permitted. Kids can pass the virus with and without masks. If anyone in the law making committees even has kids and know the hazards of infection that can be caused… Read more »

So many doctors commenting on this thread! So much collective knowledge and wisdom! I’m persuaded by the many Ph.D.’s who have expressed (using terrible spelling and even worse punctuation) their informed opinions! I’m persuaded!
