I get calls every week from ‘the united state’ by someone who can hardly speak english!
I got a call like this and started winding them up, making as if
I’m stupid.Eventually they got fed up and hang up!
It’s truly sad that in today’s world we need to become extremely cautious and suspicious of everything and everybody we don’t know? Have you also noticed a marked increase in the number of tzedakah calls with sad stories asking for the credit card number you want to charge the donation to. Personally, I’d tell the caller that I’d like to check out the veracity of the cause before I’d give them any such information.
Last week I got a call from someone who said she got a listing and my apartment was for sale and could she see it? It was sold 2 years ago! She sounded very confused, I’m sure she genuinely thought it was on the market. I thought at the time it was very odd.
