Approaching its fifth year, the Smicha Yeshivas Hashluchim is gearing up for another successful year.
Located in the Upper West Side of Manhattan, and partnered with Chabad of the West Side, bochurim have the chance to experience a combination of a serious Yeshiva program and community Shlichus activities.
The full-time staff of the Yeshiva, including Rabbi Yossi Schmukler and Rabbi Dovber Dechter, ensure the high level of learning, with a particular focus on Smicha and halacha.
The partnership with a community gives the bochurim the opportunity to develop Shlichus skills as well. Chavrusa style programs in many Chabad centers that the bochurim are involved with prepare them to give shiurim to a wide audience.
Additionally, it teaches the bochurim how not to just take chassidus at face value, but rather put thought in, to ensure that it is something that one can relate to. The depth and perspective gained by teaching others who do not have the same background as the bochurim, is extraordinary. The enthusiasm and investment regular working people have to these Torah classes is infectious and has a very positive impact.
The location of the Yeshiva gives bochurim the opportunity to tap into incredible resources in terms of reaching out to Yidden and being able to enrich their Jewish lives. They become well known in the community and build deep, lasting relationships.
Being able to dorm in the city makes the experience all immersive. The bochurim are well taken care of, and are able to put their energy into learning and growing.
Both b’gashmiyum and b’ruchniyus, this is a unique and exciting opportunity with very limited space. For more information, please contact Yeshivashashluchim@gmail.com.
