NEW YORK — Holiday weekend travel plans are jeopardized after the National Weather Service warned that a blizzard carrying up to 16 inches of snow will hit the New York region Sunday.
Some airlines announced flight cancellations Saturday because of the storm. A blizzard warning was set to begin at 6 a.m. Sunday and continue until 6 p.m. Monday, with between 11 and 16 inches of snow anticipated. The warning was issued for the entire New York area, including Long Island and Westchester County.
Continental Airlines announced it was canceling 250 flights departing from Newark Liberty International Airport outside New York City. Continental, United Airlines, JetBlue and Delta were among airlines waiving fees for one-time changes in affected areas.

I really hope you don’t miss your brother’s wedding!! But if you do ch”v, there are letters from the Rebbe (especially in the “Yuds,” where he advised people not to go long distances to siblings’ weddings, and these might give you chizuk and practical ideas, like donating the cost of the ticket cost to tzedakah in the couple’s zechus, etc. Wishing everyone only simchas and hatzlacha!!
