Lubavitch chassidim and Chabad followers around the world will start to recite Chapter 115 of Tehillim next month, corresponding to the Rebbe’s 114th birthday on the 11th of Nissan.
As customary, a melody was composed on select words from that kapital (chapter) which will be sung throughout the year at farbrengens and other joyous occasions in an expression of love to the Rebbe.
Composing the new niggun is the veteran chassidic composer R’ Sholom Bruchstat who sampled the melody for bochurim learning in the Central Tomchei Tmimim Yeshiva at 770 Eastern Parkway in Crown Heights.
It uses the following 4 verses from the kapital:
יִשְׂרָאֵל בְּטַח בַּיהֹוָה עֶזְרָם וּמָגִנָּם הוּא:
בֵּית אַהֲרֹן בִּטְחוּ בַיהֹוָה עֶזְרָם וּמָגִנָּם הוּא:
יִרְאֵי יְהֹוָה בִּטְחוּ בַיהֹוָה עֶזְרָם וּמָגִנָּם הוּא:
לֹא לָנוּ יְהֹוָה לֹא לָנוּ כִּי לְשִׁמְךָ תֵּן כָּבוֹד עַל חַסְדְּךָ עַל אֲמִתֶּךָ:

Is there official competition for the best song this year or because many of his songs in the past were chosen by the rebbe so it was decided this year that only his song will be the song for 11 nisson ?
