Rabbi Levi Tiechtel and his wife Adina (nee Schochet) have been appointed as the new Chabad Shluchim to West Lafayette, Indiana.
The Tiechtels, along with their son Mendel, will move from Crown Heights to establish a Chabad center at Purdue University, joining the team of Chabad on Campus International.
Their goal is to strengthen Jewish awareness and pride at Purdue, which has the second largest student body of any university in Indiana as well as the fourth largest international student population of any university in the United States.
Their work will focus primarily on the 1,000 Jewish students at Purdue University, the Jewish faculty members, as well as the community located in West Lafayette.
“We are looking forward to establishing a warm home away from home for all Jews in the area,” Rabbi Tiechtel told COLlive.
The Shluchim were appointed by Rabbi Avraham and Nini Grossbaum, the Head Shluchim of Indiana.
The Tiechtels gave a special Yasher Koiach to their parents and family for all their support and also thanked Rohr Family Foundation for making this possible.
