Rabbi Mendy and Ariella Weg are moving together with their family on Shlichus to Evanston, Illinois, and will be working with the Jewish students studying at Northwestern University.
As the Directors of Innovation of the Tanenbaum Chabad House, the Wegs will be collaborating closely with Northwestern students to enrich their Jewish and college experiences through fresh Torah learning opportunities, homey Shabbos experiences, one-on-one student engagements, and ongoing programming throughout campus.
Raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma and currently residing in New York City, Rabbi Weg has a deep understanding of the dynamics of both large and small Jewish communities and has conceived and produced numerous large-scale events throughout the Jewish community. Raised in S. Paulo, Brazil, Ariella Weg, has an extensive background in education and currently serves as the Judaic & Hebrew Studies Curriculum Director at Mazel Day School.
The new Shluchim join Rabbi Dov Hillel Klein, Chabad’s longstanding Director of 30+ years and a pioneer of Shlichus on campus, and Rabbi Meir and Yehudis Hecht, Directors of Community Outreach.
Special thanks to Rabbi Meir Shimon Moscowitz, Rabbi Menachem Schmidt, Rabbi Hesh Epstein, Rabbi Avi Weinstein and the Chabad on Campus Vaad.
The new Shluchim can be reached via [email protected] and [email protected].
