Rabbi Mendy and Mussy Posner have been appointed as the new Shluchim to the Fenway-Huntington Ave. area of Boston, Massachusetts.
The Posners, along with their newborn daughter Menucha, will be moving to the largely residential area with significant artistic venues and educational institutions.
Their work will focus primarily on the Jewish students at the prominent Northeastern University, expanding the area’s outreach activities of Rabbi Shmuel and Chana Posner.
Rabbi and Mrs. Posner senior first arrived in Boston in 1985, joining Head Shliach Rabbi Chaim and Nechama Prus at the Chabad House of Greater Boston. They have since connected generations of Jewish students to their heritage.
The younger Posners will also be serving Jewish students in the area attending Wentworth College, the New England Conservatory, Massachusetts College of Art, MCPHS, and the MFA.
Rabbi Mendy Posner is a natural choice for the new position, having grown up among university students at his parents’ campus Chabad House, and developing a natural rapport with students. His wife Mussy has also quickly connected with the Northeastern students she has already met.
“My wife and I are excited to have Mendy and Mussy serve the student population here. The success we have had, Baruch Hashem, made apparent the need for Shluchim devoted exclusively to students at these schools,” said Rabbi Shmuel Posner. “We are confident that together, they will have a dramatic effect improving Jewish student life, and be a source of nachas to the Rebbe.”
