Chabad Girls Academy of Crown Heights has some spectacular news! We are thrilled to announce the appointment of our new principal, Dr. Shimon Waronker, a distinguished educator.
Formerly the head of Yeshivah – Beth Rivkah Colleges of Melbourne, Australia, he has accepted his role in CGA as his latest venture, helping CGA achieve its full potential.
“Our mission is to empower learners and inspire leaders to make this a better world. I believe that our girls are the ‘Barzel’ – (Bilhah, Rachel, Zilpah and Leah) – the ‘Iron’ that will shape the destiny of our people. My job is to strengthen all the good that they already have,” Dr. Waronker says.
Dr. Waronker’s credentials are impressive. He received a Masters degree and Doctorate from Harvard University, has been knighted by the French government for outstanding work in education and has led schools in the U.S. and internationally.
Working alongside Dr. Waronker is our dedicated staff. They are ready to learn new educational concepts and integrate them into the classroom. This works right into the CGA teaching model; the road to improving our student’s spiritual and academic outcomes depends on the quality of our teachers, their scope of educational knowledge, and support they receive to successfully implement proven concepts.
The excitement to get things moving in the best direction is palpable. Dr. Waronker puts it into his own words beautifully: “I am so happy to have the opportunity to help our community, here in Crown Heights. I see it as an honor to serve in the Shechuna of the Rebbe. It is my hope that all of the experiences I’ve had in my life will help Chabad Girls Academy become a shining light of hope and help us come that much closer to bringing Moshiach now.”
Chabad Girls Academy was founded seven years ago to serve middle school students grades 5-8, encouraging them to flourish in an experiential environment, where the students’ emotional, spiritual and academic needs are nurtured.
CGA is growing dramatically from year to year. With Dr. Waronker’s bitachon in the school’s goals and his clear vision for the future, we may outgrow our space even sooner than we imagined!
Chabad Girls Academy will be hosting a virtual open house with Dr. Shimon Waronker inviting current and prospective parents on Tuesday, August 3rd, 8-9pm (click here for the Zoom link).
We will have a unique Q & A segment with a panel of our educators and parents: Dr. Waronker (Principal of CGA), Mrs. Kramer (Director of CGA), Mrs. Teichtel (Principal of BRHS), Mrs. Sarah Korn (parent & Board Member of CGA), Mr. Shneur Hickson (former parent & Board Member of CGA).
