Chabad of Tzfas, Directed by Shliach Rabbi Chaim Kaplan, has announced the opening of a new Mesivta that will be serving “excelling students” that are Hebrew speakers.
The new program will operate alongside Yeshiva of Beis Menachem Mendel – Tzeirei Hashluchim in Tzfas, the longtime Mesivta that welcomes students that are sons of Shluchim and are English speakers.
Rabbi Zalman Kaplan, who has years of experience in education and teaching and is known for his fascinating lessons as well as his unique educational approach, will head both programs.
The new yeshiva’s director will be Rabbi Shmuel Mishulovin, known to many of the bochurim for his role in organizing Vaad Talmidei Hatmimim programs for bochurim during Tishrei in New York.
Following the successful Mechina Yeshiva which has been operating for the past few years for the students of 8th Grade, under the direction of Rabbi Shneur Zalman Gerlitzky, the hanhalah of the Yeshiva has decided to open a Mesivta beginning the next school year.
In honor of 15th of Elul, the first board meeting was held by the management and the staff of the Yeshiva, who made the decision to found the new Mesivta. The Hanhallah will spend the next year planning and recruiting a group of qualified staff and as well as an excellent group of students who will form the first class of the new Mesivta.
“The Chabad yeshiva world has welcomed the important news,” Rabbi Chaim Kaplan said. “As there is a great need for another yeshiva that will complement the current Yeshiva Ketanos in Israel.”
