A chassidic discourse from the 6th Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Schneersohn OBM, discussing Hashem’s great mercy was printed this week for the first time.
Titled “Elokei Olam Berachamecho Horabim,” it was said on Shabbos Parshas Noach, on the 6th of Cheshvan 5689 (1928).
A handwritten manuscript of a chossid who wrote down the maamar has on it the handwritten edits of the Frierdiker Rebbe.
The editorial team at the Lahak publishing organization had it typed it and Rabbi Aharon Leib Raskin included footnotes and references.
The 10 page maamar discusses the different ways mercy is shown by Hashem, drawing on Gemara, Rambam and past discourses from previous Lubavitcher Rebbes.
The Frierdiker Rebbe concludes the maamar with a prayer to Hashem that “have mercy on us and give us strength etc. to overcome all hindrances and delays and to complete the divide intention to illuminate the darkness of this land with the light of Torah.”
This publication comes at a trying time for the Jewish nation, as three yeshiva students were murdered in cold blood and terrorists have the capabilities of firing rockets on every Israeli city.
Jews around the world have been learning Torah additional hours and doing more Mitzvos, adhering to the Rebbe‘s call to help Israel with “spiritual defenses.”
