New Home for West Coast Camp

Gan Yisroel West

Machaneh Mamosh, Gan Yisroel Overnight Camp in California, has purchased a beautiful camp facility from the County of Madera, California. The effort to locate and purchase a facility has been the long term goal of its Directors Rabbi and Mrs. Shlomo Menkes.

Located in North Fork, California, one hour outside of Yosemite National Park the camp is located on 95 beautiful lush acres, bordered on one side by Manzanita Lake.

The camp was built to accommodate 80 campers and staff and construction has already begun to expand its capacity.

Fundraising efforts to purchase the camp have been led by Mr. Carlos Siderman, a well known philanthropist in the Los Angeles area.

The first programs operating out of the facility will be Gan Yisroel West Girl’s Division from June 24th through July 22nd and Gan Yisroel West Boy’s Division from July 23rd through August 20th.

We will be continuing with some of our signature activities such as horseback riding, archery, boating, water skiing and exploring the beautiful Sierra Nevada’s, including Yosemite National Park and Sequoia Kings Canyon National Park along with sports, arts and crafts, cookouts, overnights and trips.
