Sunday, a double simcha took place for the new Rohr Chabad House at the University of Virginia.
A Grand Opening for the new student center was held, with over 120 students, parents, alumni, community members, and shluchim from all over Virginia in attendance.
Shluchim Rabbi Shlomo and Channa Mayer have been in Charlottesville, VA for 11 years serving the town and the University.
The new building boasts a large Shabbat room, student lounge, bikkur cholim suite, rabbi’s family residence, and a modern mikvah.
Head Shliach Rabbi Yossel Kranz addressed the crowd before the ribbon cutting, with blessings for continued success. In addition, the Mayers celebrated the upshern of their son Sruli on the same day.
