The phones at Lubavitch Youth Organization in Crown Heights were ringing constantly on Chol Hamoed Sukkos.
Rabbis and community leaders of New York City’s Five Boros were calling in with the same request, “please do not forget us.”
They wanted a delegation of Lubavitcher Chassidim to visit their Shul on Simchas Torah, a custom that the Rebbe initiated.
And out they went. Some 2500 Chassidim and bochurim marched to 320 Shuls to help bring more joy to thousands of Jews on Sunday.
The participants marched to Queens (3 hours each way), Howard Beach, (3 hours) Flatbush, Long Island City (3 hours), Sea Gate (close to 3 hours) Lower and Upper Manhattan (2.5 hours) Starret City, Bensonhurst, Canarsie, Manhattan Beach, Sheepshead Bay and Bay Ridge.
In many communities they were asked to speak about the significance of the day. Many Rabbis exclaimed that “without Lubavitch the Yom Tov would not be the same.”
Many of the marchers came back thorough Williamsburg where they were greeted with a very hearty “Git Yom Tov.” Many said that they see that “Lubavitch is alive.”
“You see here the dedication of Lubavitcher Chassidim to inconvenience themselves to a great extent only to fulfill the wish of the Rebbe,” said Rabbi Shmuel Butman, Director Lubavitch Youth Organization.
“Lubavitch is not only alive, Lubavitch prospers and expands as the Tahaluchos (marches) become bigger and bigger each year.”
The Tahaluchos were organized by Rabbi Yossi Butman in cooperation with NYPD and was helped by Rabbi Yosef Goldwasser, Rabbi Yehudah Blotner and Shlomo Zalmanoff .

I thought the Rebbies can perform miracles, why not internal Shalom
nice idea. Now that I’ve stopped laughing….
Nice to see Chabad and Satmar can make shalom, would really be nice if each one can make shalom among themselves.
Flatbush, Brooklyn Heights, & Lower East Side. They received as much as they gave! Tahalucha gives us Chizuk as well.
