Rabbi Meir Gutnick, founder and director of the Kol Menachem publishing house in Crown Heights, is visiting Israel this week and spent the time to encourage the settelers movement.
He was welcomed at the Gush Katif Museum in Jerusalem that tells the story of Jewish settlement in the Gaza strip, from the days of the Hasmoneans till the uprooting of Jews during the 2005 “disengagement plan” in 2005.
Shlomo Verstil, the Director of the Museum, led Gutnick and his family on the tour talking about his own experiences living there as an agriculturist and the hardship the expelled residents went through and are going through ever since.
“The mission of this museum is to prevent another terrible expulsion like this from Judea and Shomron,” Verstil told the Gutnicks.
Gutnick, who runs a charity called Gutnick Foundation Inc and is the publisher of the Gutnick Chumash series, said he was very moved and hopes every Jew visits the museum and supports the battle to keep Israel safe.
