The Rebbe’s Ohel in the Old Montefiore cemetery In Queens, New York, has all sorts of visitors, at any time of the day, throughout the year.
But the scene on Sunday night this week was indeed a unique one.
Rabbi Yitzchak Meir Morgenstern, a respected Kabbalist from Jerusalem who heads the Yeshiva Toras Chacham, was there with his loyal followers.
Standing facing the Rebbe’s tziyun, the rabbi prayed and sang with his entourage known Chabad melodies, such as Anim Zemiros, Padah B’Shalom and the tune of We Want Moshiach Now.
Among the crowd of some 50 Chassidim was Mordechai Ben David Werdyger, one of the most known Jewish singers and songwriters.
As is customary, they placed their “Pan” (personal letter to the Rebbe) at the gravesite.
Rabbi Morgenstern, who is well versed in the Rebbe’s teachings, then left to the large tent and shul operated by Ohel Chabad-Lubavitch, where Bel Habour Shliach Rabbi Sholom Ber Lispkar was just entering with his friend, energy industrialist Guma Aguiar.
nothing like it I love him.
ENJOYED IT.
You can get the Rebbe’s weekly Torah email in English or Hebrew by sending an email to [email protected]
The Rebbe spends most of his time in prayer and teaching Torah. He does not keep regular hours for yichidus. You can try to pass on a message to his Shammos Rav Shraga at 054 344 3607 from Israel or 011 972 54 344 3607 from the US.
The best way to speak to the Rebbe is to come between 11am and 2pm to his Yeshiva at Ohalei Yosef 4 a little up from the corner of Bar Ilan Street in Jerusalem
this is so beautiful
Did he go to Reb Yoel of Satmar ohel in Monroe Too?
who is yossi frankel?
first off, #6, if you know yossi frankel you can contact him, they’re very close, i think he was a shammas by him a few years whenever he came to london. he’s a very special person… not a rebbe but a tzaddik, people have seen miracles direct from him
The video started, and immediately a chill went through me. Whilst watching it, I was thinking, ‘how special for the children there to witness such a sight, even from the video it felt like a touch of holiness, like in the stories we read about from the old days…’
what time was this on sunday?
Its so sad that we get excited when a small time rebbe comes to the Ohel…where are all the big rebbes, the big Torah giants, how come they can’t show some respect?
