Today, Tuesday, a Shluchim family near Philadelphia will get up from their 7 day Shiva mourning period over their son and sibling, 2 year-old Shalom Dovber Gerber.
The boy was the youngest of 9 children and passed away in his sleep on Tuesday, Tevet 14, 5771.
His parents, Rabbi Zalman Gerber and his wife Miriam direct the Chabad of Penn Wynne in Wynnewood, PA, in addition to a Hebrew School and a large summer Day Camp. Mrs. Gerber is the principal of a Cheder for Shluchim kids in the area.
The Shluchim Fund, which helps out Chabad families on Shlichus who are in financial despair, is asking the community to held the Gerber family in their time of need.

Sincere condolences to the Gerber family for this loss. Zalman and Miriam are wonderfully sweet and kind people. We can measure life in days, months and years, but it seems to me this is just a passive measurement of time and is of little consequence. We can measure a person by their actions and the love and spirit they bring to our world and by this measurement Shalom Dovber Gerber led a big life. May the Gerber family be comforted and find solace. -Benny the accordion player.
