Mrs. Zee Rocker, a beloved longtime resident of Crown Heights, passed away on Friday, 7 Shvat, 5777.
She was 86.
Zee was born in Long Branch, NJ where her great-uncle was a founder of the Shul.
She came to Crown Heights after a summer in Minnesota, as a student.
Her first Tishrei was spent at the Cadaner home in Crown Heights, who were known for their Hachnasas Orchim.
She went on to work at Operation Survival with Rabbi JJ Hecht and Rabbi Michoel Behrman.
She also worked with special children as an aide and shadow.
Zee was known for being on the line to receive a dollar from the Lubavitcher Rebbe at 770 Eastern Parkway almost every Sunday, and she attended classes in the Bais Medrash le’Noshim.
Her birthday on 22 Shvat was celebrated yearly by her many friends and Mashpios, who included birthday festivities for her during the Chof beis Shvat programming.
She was famous for greeting every person with a warm greeting and a smile. She loved to do kindness for others with words and actions.
In her later years she moved Lakewood, NJ to be near family.
She is survived by a son, a daughter, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Zee Rocker’s family will be sitting Shiva in Crown Heights on Wednesday, February 8th from 4 pm -10PM at Swerdlov’s, 484 Crown Street.

I am so deeply sorry for your terrible loss. I met and befriended Zee during our mutual time at Bais Chana in Minnesota all those years ago. We had been friends ever since. She was such a good person. A lovely woman. I will miss her terribly, but will always remember her goodness, cheerfulness, her honest down to earth-ness and zest for life. BDE

My dear mother in law…Laurie Cadaner may she live and be well until 120..hosted and cooked for Zee’s daughter’s wedding.To my mother in law; Zee was treated as a member of our family and welcomed into each of our homes. Zee was a respected, honored and beloved person.She was loved by adults and children alike. May Hashem Comfort her daughter; Rivka Leah and her Mechutan; the Spielman family.

We always called her Z, she was my neighbor on Montgomery St for many years. She was always smiling and friendly and adored children 🙂 She will be missed.

I would see Mrs zee would feeding the birds challa in the alleyways . I remember she would always be smiling. A very down to earth lady . This year i hadnt seen her at all and was wondering about her where she was. I guess twas jersey she resided. Sad to hear of her passing

zee was a bas bayis in our home. she had such incredible qualities. she was a real kabolas ol person. she worked on herself daily. she was ellegant. she was loving. zee was a special neshomo. Zi huht gemaynt mit an emmes.
