Mrs. Rivka Shubov, a longtime Crown Heights resident, passed away on Thursday Night, 4 Sivan, 5782.
She was 89.
Rivka was the daughter of Reb Shmuel and Ettil Gitlin.
She was born in Ukraine, and spent the war years in Samarkand.
After her marriage to R’ Moshe Shubov she moved to Moscow and had great mesiras nefesh for yiddishkeit, raising a frum family despite the dangers.
When they were able to leave the Soviet Union, they immigrated to Israel and later settled in Crown Heights.
She was zoche to raise children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren in the ways of Torah and Chassidus.
She is survived by her children, Bentzion Shubov – Crown Heights, Mendel Shubov – Toronto, Rochel Chaiton – Las Vegas, and Esther Krinsky – Crown Heights.
The Levaya will take place today, Friday, at Shomrei Hadas in Boro Park at 10:00 am and passing by 770 at 11:00 am.
