Just goes to show, how one person can add so much to the world. Between all her kids, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, there was a big impact in this world

Must have been quite a woman with such illustrious children. May the family be comforted and may we share good news.

In Honor of a Great Woman. We are all shackled to overlord of time and although I know that things never stay the same, it is sad to have learned of the passing of Miriam Tzimmel Friedman – fondly known to me as “Bubby Friedman”. For many Ba’alei Teshuva’s, we made and continue to make the ultimate sacrifice of changing our lives in order to become a part of something so much bigger. Why? My initial sight of the Friedman family sitting together at a royal Shabbos meal, singing in the most harmonious of ways, with smiles – laughter and… Read more »

LyricsKrenitz (Babinyu) 8th Day Every morning from the kitchen where she’s cooking My Bubbe she tell you your good lookin The kids, they’ll play you patche hentelach The Bubbe, she’ll make you fish and kneidlach But the baker and the butcher, they’re so lonely My Bubbe, the kettle’s whistle for me My shtetl Krenitz is calling your name Der Bubbe zoil zein gezunt un freilach My shtetl is calling But there ain’t no highway back to Krenitz There ain’t no train inside this ride I close my eyes and say Hello L.A. Welcome to the shtetl of mine Bubbe, Bubbe… Read more »

With our warmest condolences to Ita (&family); Rabbi Manis (& family); Rabbi Avrom (& family); & all the Friedman siblings & their families. You were K”H ALL BLESSED to have your mom in your lives for all these long years.
May you all be granted strength from the Aibeshter to help you through your period of grief; & may only continued Simchas & Nachas fill your homes.

i am a witness of the holiness of 701 montgomery. Definitely Mrs. Friedman was Queen Mother. But i have never seen such an incredible devoted family. Reb Shloime and BROCHA are just tzadikim, Fay (didja think i’d forget u? ) ALL the einiklach, the dignity in which mrs. Friedman lived!!!!!!!!!!! Hashem should repay you all with nachas from your children, and I am sure they are better for they saw how you treated YOUR mother.

I have the privilege of knowing one of her granddaughters, Rebbetzin Fruma Perlstein, shlucha to Salem, Oregon, and her seven wonderful children. Rebbetzin Friedman’s legacy is clearly perpetuated in this family, as I’m sure it is by all her grandchildren. Her memory will continue to bless many, many people for generations to come.

Mrs. Friedman’s a”h extraordinary middos and regal demeanor was so memorable, that one almost forgets that behind her mild and eidel façade there was a person with an extraordinarily keen and perceptive mind. A true mushlam in both mochin and midos.

Wow I am so moved by this comment. That is beautiful. So many baalei teshuva and even children of baalei teshuva are SEARCHING for belonging. Its the most painful and heartbreaking thing to feel like you dont belong. Many have decided to “deal with it” but in truth if you want to have ahavas yisroel towards a yid in a huge huge way: do what Bubbie Friedman did. Simply accept and embrace another person into a little bit of your space, which is not so simple but will move mountains for people and change lives and generations of yidden that… Read more »
