Toronto has lost one of the “mothers of Lubavitch” here in the city and a constant, reassuring presence at the “Edinburgh” Shul. My late Aunt Rochel Kirschener a”h worked in the preschool with Mrs. Gluckowsky a”h at Eitz Chaim, and her late husband was one of those whose presence at the famous Bnai Brith “Kallah” Shabbaton had a big impact on my brother. We both wish the family strength and comfort for your loss.
So very saddened to learn of Mrs. Gluckowsky’s passing.
A wonderful and special neshama.
They were true Shluchim who were Mekarev many families to the Rebbe including ours. Hamokom Yenachem Eschem Besoch Shar Aveilei Tziyon Veyerushalayim.

She was our Bubby…
Mrs Gluckowsky was such an example of how Shluchim should be. She together with her husband opened their home and their hearts to me long ago and made me welcome. I will always be grateful to them. Hamakom yinachem eschem
Dear Bubby, we miss you so much. We love you. How will we have Simchas, Summers and Yomim Tovim without you?. Please come back to us with the coming of Moshiach!
Not only was I privileged to have taught next to R. Glukowsky in 770 in Toronto, I also had Mrs. Gluckowsky as my nursery teacher. She and her husband were both leaders in Torah Light in Toronto and abroad. She will be truly missed. Her smile, brightness and love for every Yid shone from her face and being. They will always hold a very special place in my life…may we only share simchas by all…..Hamokem Yenachem eschem.

we first met the Glukowsky’s 55 years ago at camp GI in Linden (?) Michigan. they were, among other things, camp parents. they treated the boys, including our very young son, like aigener children.
this was a life long example of their goodness and accomplishments.

I am so so sorry of her loss! She holds a very special place in my heart. I accredited her with having starting me off performing in front of her pre school children in Eitz Chaim. She gave me the courage for me to do that! I am and will be always grateful to her. Such a wonderful and sweet person …. Hamokem yenachem eschem..

We were very saddened to hear of Mrs. Gluckowsky’s passing. I (Marty) have fond memories of the Gluckowsky family coming to my home town of Brantford for Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur where Rabbi Gluckowsky served as our chazen. Our families have maintained a closeness ever since. Condolences to all her family.
A true example of an emese yid. Always with a smile and full of ahavas Yisroel. One of 5 sisters raised in Chattanooga Tennessee. Her father was the rabbi reverand I believe
Boruch Dayan HaEmes. A tragic shock!!! My wife and I and my children were in Toronto a few weeks ago and stopped by to visit her at her home 77 allingham. She welcomed us into her home with her smile that lit up a room. Her home looked exactly as it did 35 years ago when I was in mesivta in Toronto and would go every Friday to learn chassidus with Reb Yankel A”H and mrsGluckowsky would give me ice cream. She was like a mother to me when I was away from home in mesivta. Her and her husband… Read more »
I met Mrs Gluckowsky when I first moved to Chicago and she was visiting her esteemed daughter, “Morah Lakey”. She was a happy, warm personality, someone people felt comfortable around right away. I feel privileged to have met her.
Also, Lakey said that her mother was the one who got Uncle Moishy started by inviting him to her preschool class to perform!
We are all heart broken….. Mrs Gluckowski and her husband ah, Rabbi Gluckowski were pillars here in Toronto, for our Lubavitch community. They both had tremendous Ahavas Yisroel, simchas hachaim and exuberated a genuine passion and love for the Rebbe and darchai haChasiddus. Through this, they enriched and changed the lives of so many people in our community. It was a privilege and an honor to know them both, and be a part of their lives. They were part of our family and will always be. Mrs Gluckowski will be sorely missed. No question, she together with her husband will make a shturem… Read more »

Mrs Glucowsky was my role model and mentor. She exemplified the meaning of what all of us should strive to be like. She was real. She always had a smile and something nice to say. She was funny and always made us laugh. It’s a real loss for myself, and family. My comfort is that she is resting with Rabbi glucosky and is definitely in a special place.
from the time we became ‘mechutonim’, when our cousin rivka perman married moishemayer, and i met her, i really liked her.
she had only good in her, always with a great disposition, a nice thing to say, a caring person. interested in people, making people feel good. really, really a very special, friendly and bekovedikke lady.

Both she and her husband we the example of how Kiruv should be done. They had a great impact on the Toronto Jewish Community , a great loss.
May her family find comfort .
I’m saddened by this news. I knew her Daughter Lakey Silber & her Mishpacha as well. I’m also good friends with her Granddaughter. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. WE NEED MOSHIACH NOW!!
Just met her at two simchas. Glad I hugged her. A diamond gone from the landscape.
She would always want to catch up with me & ask me: how are my parents, what are my sisters up to. A real mensch.
I will miss her.
